SMTP Inbound Log

The SMTP Inbound log (SMTPLog.txt) appears in the same directory as the SMTP Event Log. Please note that this log does not `rollover' automatically.

 

LOG MESSAGE

DESCRIPTION

Accepting connection from [IP:SOCKET] DNSNAME

Incoming SMTP connection (Session ID: SID) from IP on SOCKET. DNSNAME is the reverse DNS result.

Session Terminating. Active for H:M:S.THT

The incoming SMTP connection (Session SID) has terminated. H:M:S.THT is the duration.

Mail From (C): S

Session ID: Command "C" was received from inbound SMTP and was interpreted as a "Mail From." S is the sender (argument from C).

Mail Recipient: R

Session ID: The argument for the RCPT TO command is given as "R."

Message Received. X Bytes.

Session ID: The DATA state has been completed, received a message X bytes in length.

XK data received

Session ID: Every 4K, a progress message will appear in the log. X indicates how much data has been received (in K bytes, 1024 bytes).

X Y

Session ID: SMTP-COMMAND SMTP-ARGUMENT. (Only appears if SLmail's SMTP Debug log item is selected.)
