This documentation assumes that you have some familiarity with the basic Windows user interface: that you know, for example, how to select an item in a list box, what a program group is, and how to double-click. We have tried not to assume further knowledge, for example, knowledge of the SMTP protocol.
To use much of the material in this documentation, you must have administrative privileges on your Windows NT/2000 system, which means you must either have logged on under the user name of Administrator or be a member of the Administrator's user group. It is assumed that if you have these privileges you also have a basic acquaintance with the essentials of Windows NT administration. Windows NT administration fundamentals are covered in the Windows NT Resource Guide.
