How does our new intelligent anti-spam feature work?

SeattleLab uses a technology called Recurrent Pattern Detection (RPD). With every spam attack across the Internet there is always one repetitive value or pattern in every email. Subject line, content matter, graphics, language, IP address and domain names do not fool our technology.

Our technology looks at specific message characteristics and assigns it a digital key to poll against our database of information that is dynamically updated in real time. The whole process takes about 300ms to complete. We are constantly monitoring Internet traffic and evaluating the traffic against our data base of digital keys that compare spam attacks against the following criteria:

• Message belongs to a confirmed unsolicited spammer
• Many occurrences of this email have been detected. Message is bulk transmission
• Message has been detected and stored in our Global Service Center (GSC). There is not enough info to declare message as bulk transmission
• No information is available for this email, Status cannot be determined
• Message is white listed in Service Center – Message is not spam

Our technology recognizes new spam attacks within the first 1.5 seconds from when the attack is launched. We store millions of patterns in our databases thus increasing the accuracy of our detection rate.

This past year our customer base on average was reporting 97% + of spam detection with less than a half a percentage point in false positives. In this day and age when spammers are routinely changing their patterns, SLMailPro is nearly impossible to fool!
